Having lived in and around Warwick for most of my life, I have heard a number of rumours and seen signage referring to the "rumoured" network of tunnels that run beneath the town of Warwick, Warwickshire, UK.
I have spent some time researching in books and online with little evidence or information regarding these mysterious tunnels. Other than a sign on the front of "The Punchbowl" public house that mentions "...Warwicks famous tunnels...", there is little to no information on this network.
Due to the lack on information about these tunnels, and due to my interest in history, I am going to be looking further into the mystery surrounding these tunnels and hopefully find answers to questions like - how many are there?, where do they go from / to?, what was their purpose?, who built them? along with any other questions that might be answered along the way.
